A Trak and AVH made this song called Anyway under the name Duck Sauce. It heavily samples a song called I Can Do It Anyway by Final Edition. Here is both – the Duck Sauce track and the aforementioned sampled track. Nom nom nom.
I invite you to feast on this arpeggio’d clap-fest Vangelis cover from Lindstrøm. Directly taken from the midst of his Late Night Tales mix – which explains the abrupt top and tailed cuts – it’s a drifting Disco delight that’s slotted into my day like an honest hand in a leather glove. Oh and you must investigate the full mix cause I think it’s the best LNT ever done.
Purple Rain has lept back into my life the past week and boy am I pleased. It never gets old. But if you’ve over-played your copy and you need some fresh takes on those fresh takes, why not wade through this – the extended mix of I Would Die 4 U. At a solid 10:20, it’s a percussion power pumper. Oh and also have the B-Side to Let’s Go Crazy, called Erotic City. It’s very good, so it is. BEHOLD.

Here are two tracks I’ve been listening to today. One is Donna Allen’s Serious, which was sampled for Strike’s You Sure Do and the second is Falke’s new release Chicago, which samples Roy Ayers. Both remind me of a top weekend I had at Big Chill, both completely dissimilar, both pretty damn fresh. Onwards…
