Here is Lindstrøm hitting record and psyching out in his studio – 11mins never went so fast. Look out for the Lindstrøm & Christabelle album in the new year – it’s incredibly good.
Also is a short cover of Lykke Li by the Friendly Fires which is fun followed by a SMD remix by Maurice Fulton of their new single Cruel Intentions. That’s all for now.
Doves – Jetstream (Lindstrøm Remix)
Friendly Fires – I’m Good I’m Gone (Lykke Li Cover)
Simian Mobile Disco – Cruel Intentions (Maurice Fulton Remix)

When I first came across Patrick Cowley, it wasn’t the first time I went hunting for a MySpace or a live gig, only to find that not only was the good man himself long dead, but that the music had been created almost thirty years prior (fyi, the other time was Black Devil Disco Club) – a testament to either the ahead-of-its-time nature of his tracks or to my stupidity, or perhaps both. Regardless, he’s been a permanent member of my On-The-Go since.
To cut a long story short, a selection of 1/4″ tapes of a label-rejected album by Cowley and vocalist Jorge Socarras has surfaced in a basement (so clichéd) and found itself released on Monday just past. Entitled, Catholic, it’s yet again a high-five to Cowley’s legacy with it’s collage of styles and genres, none too out-of-place with a lot of the Post-Punk or Hi-NRG Disco tracks that came many years later and that are even being released around us in ’09. Patrick was one of the most important producers in the Disco scene and it’s truly inspiring that he still emotes such fire closing in on the thirtieth anniversary of his death.
Have a listen to the disjointed but engaging album below. The first single will be Soon, with remixes from Morgan Geist, among others.

A few months back, I posted the original of this track and just today I stumbled across the Larry Levan mix and it’s just as good if not better. Grasp it below.
Also, big thanks to bicep to putting me on the Cos/Mes – a really great psychedelic Disco duo from the Orient. Listen to their track Ramp below and then go to WhatPeoplePlay and buy that sucker (as well as their album Sadistic Skatepark).
